Steering Committee - Hilary Wakeman

Hilary Wakeman is the author of Saving Christianity: new thinking for old beliefs (Liffey Press, 2003). Ordained in the Church of England, Hilary was Vicar of a city-centre church in Norwich, and then Rector of a Church of Ireland parish in County Cork, from which she retired in 2001. In the 1970's she founded the Julian Meetings, a now worldwide ecumenical network of contemplative prayer groups. She has been involved in many organisations, including the Council of Christians and Jews, and LGCM (the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement). Hilary and her husband John live in west Cork, where they edit The SHOP: a Magazine of Poetry. They have five children and four grandchildren.
